Sal Ali lives about a mile from it. He says the 500-megawatt natural gas power plant is ruining his quality of life.
"Well, it’s kind of like living across the street from Sac Metro Airport and other times there’s a loud hum and it wakes you up in the middle of the night."
But Bob Nelson with the Sacramento Municipal Utility District says it’s not that bad.
"The problem occurs only during a limited percentage of the year during cold air inversion atmospheric conditions and we’re interested in mitigating this for the benefit of all involved."
He says they plan to fix the problem and Thursday night they’re holding a community meeting at Hendrickson Hall in Herald to tell residents about it. The Cosumnes Power Plant was brought online in February.
