Governor Schwarzenegger has made it clear his conversation with the President is an opportunity to press Bush for federal help with levee improvements:
“I am shocked at the federal government’s lack of action on this issue. When I meet the president I will talk to him face to face and will complain about that.”
Senate President Pro Tem Don Perata says the Bush administration is “stiffing California,” and its Republican Governor. He’s dubious about the reason for the President’s visit:
“Maybe he’s a doubting Thomas, maybe he’s going to stick his finger in the dike and say this is pretty soft. I don’t get it. If this is a photo op it’s going to look really silly.”
Bush is scheduled to visit Cisco Systems in San Jose – as well as a fuel cell facility in West Sacramento.
