Those in attendance will hear the results of a report that looks at what damage the 1906 quake would do if it occurred today.
Chris Poland, chairman of the 100th Anniversary Conference, says a quake the size of the 1906 shaker would be felt here in Sacramento, but would not cause much damage:
Sacramento will very much feel the earthquake, and I’m sure it will be a frightening experience, but it will have little impact on the city.
Poland says there would be tremendous damage and loss of life in the San Francisco Bay Area.
