It’s not your imagination. Sacramento is a tough place to live for allergy sufferers. In fact, Sacramento ranks as the 8th most challenging place to live for people with allergies according to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.
"This is a pretty bad place for grass pollen allergy."
Doctor Chris Jakle – allergy chief at the Kaiser Hospital in South Sacramento – says even though the pollen season has just begun, it looks like it won’t be an easy one.
"It always depends on a little bit of how much rain we get in May, what the temperature is like and how much of a breeze there is, but it looks it’s going to be a pretty bad year."
He recommends allergy sufferers take their medication regularly during the pollen season which runs now through about the middle of June.
