When will the rain stop?

"Well, right now we’re estimating no time soon."

George Klein with the National Weather Service office in Sacramento says the forecast for the next 10 days is: a chance of rain. And that’s a matter of concern, especially if a warmer system pushes through the area.

"Sure it is, if we start getting a lot warmer air in a short period of time there’ll be a problem with the runoff adding to the rainfall."

He says right now, the focus of the heaviest rainfall is in the Northern Sacramento Valley. This latest system is expected to raise water levels to flood levels on the upper Sacramento River near Tehama Bridge.
