More than 500 local business and civic leaders are expected to attend Friday's sold-out speech at the Memorial Auditorium. Fargo says one of her main topics will be what the city is doing to reduce the possibility of a flood.

"Flood protection will definitely be a part of the speech I mean it’s certainly something we have to spend a lot more time and money to still make progress but you know that’s not the only thing going on in a city our size."

Fargo says she’ll also update audience members about what the city is doing to realize its vision of making Sacramento the most livable city in America.

"So we continue to look at how do we make that happen in terms of our goals of increasing public safety of making sure we have more affordable housing."

And what else will her address cover?

"I can’t tell you all the secrets right now, but that’s probably it for now."

Friday’s speech is sponsored by the Sacramento Chamber of Commerce.
