Placer County grew 28 percent from 2000 to 2005. That’s the fastest growth of any county in California, and ranks 34th in the U.S. according to the Bureau. In sheer numbers, 69,000 more people call Placer County home right now than at the turn of the millennium.

A changing economic profile has accompanied that growth. Roseville has landed a western headquarters for a major financial institution – Rabobank from Europe, a major agricultural lender. All the growth has warranted a large conference center and hotel, also in the works for Roseville. And in nearby Lincoln and Rocklin, significant new retail projects have sprung up … with more to come.
