This is the next phase in the trials of a father and son who both face terror-related charges.  Government attorney Laura Ferris portrayed Umer Hayat as a father who knew his son Hamid attended a terrorist training camp – and had even observed 3 or 4 of them himself…yet lied to agents about it.  The government plans to show a videotaped confession.

However, defense attorneys tell a different tale – one of a man and his family entrapped by an FBI informant who was eager for cash, and whose code name was reportedly “wildcat.”  Hayat’s attorney, Johnny Griffin, says his client’s confession was forced and only came after hours of interrogation.   Umer’s son Hamid faces charges of lying to the FBI as well as providing material support to terrorists.
