A four story brick building at 12th and Eye is being gutted and converted into office condominiums. These will be a first, in a city where residential condominiums are proliferating.
The building used to house the City of Sacramento’s Planning Department. A partner in the project, Roseville builder Greg Rossini, says it will be called Twelve Three One City Center. Many small business owners in the suburbs want to own their business space, taking advantage of low mortgage rates. Suburban office condos haven’t been that successful, however. But downtown there is a shortage of small, high-quality office space … making this project attractive.
