On Sundaya 20-year-old Elk Grove woman was assaulted after being pulled over on Interstate 5. A similar incident happened a week earlier along Laguna Boulevard in Elk Grove.

Sheriff’s spokesman – Sergeant R-L Davis – says if you are stopped, you can ask the officer for identification. 

"It is not unreasonable to ask the officer for his name and a badge number. If you’re having difficulties with a stop and you feel it’s appropriate you can ask that officer to request that a supervisor come to the scene so that you can speak with that supervisor."

Davis says even though they’re looking for two separate suspects posing as law enforcement officers, these kinds of sexual assault cases are rare.
