It’s part of the University of the Pacific’s Sport Management class. One of the students is 21-year-old Brianne Fine of Carmichael. She says they’ll be looking at how Olympics officials deal with security, staffing and organization.
"Just seeing how all the little tasks take place to put on this colossal event and this is just a very unique experience to be able to go and not just see them but work them and gain all of this additional knowledge."
Eight UOP students and their professor are set to leave Friday morning and arrive in Italy for training on Saturday. They’re scheduled to stay for two-weeks.
The class is also keeping a blog which can be accessed by going to UOP’s web site.
