Based in San Francisco, XOJet will open its own jet maintenance operations at the former air force base. XOJET has a fleet of 12 aircraft, including some Cessna Citations that fly to New York in well under four hours. The company expects its staff there to grow to 100 within two years.
XO is bucking the prevailing trend in corporate jets. Other companies sell planes to corporations through fractional ownership, and often have the maintenance done by outside vendors. XOJet owns and operates its fleet, and believes doing its own service, with McClellan as its West Coast site, is the better way to go.
