The suspects were arrested without incident in the city of Auburn last Friday according to the F-B-I. One of the three has been identified as 28-year-old Eric Taylor McDavid of Placer County. The other suspects included a 20-year-old Washington State man, and a 20-year-old woman from Philadelphia.

Authorities say the trio was planning to use explosives to destroy Forest Service facilities, cellular phone towers and power generating plants.
F-B-I Special Agent Karen Ernst says the three are tied to an eco-terrorist organization.

"These individuals have claimed affiliation with the Earth Liberation Front. This is group that, in the past has used tactics that include criminal activity."

The suspects have been in custody since their arrest. Ernst did not rule out the possibility of additional arrests in connection with the investigation.

The authorities didn't specify which facilities were targeted, but Ernst says there isn't any immediate threat to the public.
