The nineteen point five percent decline was tracked in one hundred forty one new-home communities by the North State Building Industry Association.
The cooling off of the new home sales market was expected after three years of feverish sales. Still, two thousand five was the fourth-strongest year for new home sales over the past fifteen years.
For December,The Antelope, North Highlands, Natomas and North Sacramento areas had forty-two percent of the region’s new home sales. Folsom, El Dorado Hills, and Rancho Murieta had twenty seven percent; and Elk Grove had thirteen percent.
