County officials say they’re looking for information from residential property owners, business owners and non-profit groups such as private schools and churches.
Spokeswoman Megan MacPherson says callers will be asked to provide their name, property address and if a business owner, the number of employees.
"And then we also have a scale that we rate the damage at, the operators will explain what that is and ask the owners to rate the damage and we’re collecting the information so that we can provide the state with the damage assessment."
The figures will support the state’s effort to get federal disaster aid. County officials are working on a tight deadline. All the information must be gathered by Saturday night.
The hotline will be operating from 8 AM to 8 PM Friday and Saturday. The number is: (916) 875-6668.
