The start of the new year triggers resolutions to find a new job among the disgruntled, the ambitious, and the unemployed … but who’s hiring? 

Experts say the State of California has about 100,000 jobs in the Sacramento area … and may replace some retiring workers and fill vacancies, given the higher revenues coming in these days.

Private companies that work on contract for municipal government have had steady demand for new workers. Healthcare and education should have openings in 2006, say the experts … and public projects and commercial building may well absorb construction talent set free by a slackening demand for new homes.
