Agency officials Monday announced the creation of a Sacramento Violent Crime Task Force. FBI special agent Karen Ernst says they’re seeing more instances of gang robberies involving firearms.

"This task force has come together as a result of many organized bank robberies and commercial robberies and it’s an effort to combat these violent crimes by sharing not only information but resources."

So far, the FBI has deputized seven Sheriff’s dectectives for the task force. They’ll be targeting violent serial robberies at banks and check cashing businesses in the Sacramento area.
