Two years after a hot real estate market cooled off in 1990, the number of active Realtors in the Sacramento area was down 25%. And by 1998, nearly half had left the field.

Mike Lyon, CEO, believes more than a third of today’s Realtors will quit in the next two years if the market’s magic loses too much luster. Today there more than 12,000 Realtors in the region. That’s triple the number since 2000.

Lyon believes that in the years immediately ahead, annual resales will slip about 15% from their peak … taking with it a lot of the newer Realtors who jumped in with visions of easy profits.
