Marimba Player Makes Music And History With Stockton Symphony
For the first time in its 79-year history, the Stockton Symphony is featuring a marimba soloist. Mallet man Makoto Nakura gives a demonstration and talks with Jeff about the unusual instrument, one rarely featured with symphony orchestras.

Makoto Nakura and trumpeter Brian Anderson will be featured with the Stockton Symphony in the West Coast premiere of Kenji Bunch’s "Double Talk: A Conversation for Marimba, Trumpet, and Orchestra" on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 8 p.m. and Saturday Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. in Warren Atherton Auditorium on the Delta College campus.
