Sacramento County’s chief park ranger Dave Lydick says the end of Daylight Savings Time usually causes problems.

"Accidents occasionally and a lot of close calls. I mean I think I probably get more calls this time of year from concerned cyclists or runners telling me that there’s a certain group that’s running along the trail wearing dark clothing and they had to swerve at the last second and everybody ends up yelling at each other."

He says people can increase safety by wearing light colored reflective clothing, sticking reflective decals or tape to clothing and bikes, exercising in groups of two or more and keeping animals on leashes.
