With just 7 days to go before Election Day, the Voter Registration and Elections office is hearing from a lot of anxious voters.

"It’s getting pretty busy around the office. We’re getting quite a few calls regarding their absentee ballot and making sure that they are in the mail being sent out to them."

Campaign Services Manager Brad Buyse says even though phone traffic has picked up, they’re anticipating low voter turnout.

"We are expecting between a 35 and 45 percent voter turnout at the polls on election day."

Buyse says next Tuesday’s special election will cost Sacramento County around $2.4 Million in General Fund money.
