The City of Sacramento asked for proposals for this massive PG&E powerhouse built a century ago along the Sacramento River. It’s a high profile location that drew four ideas.

One is to make it an entertainment venue and restaurant, with a neighboring tower of condomiums. The Sacramento Children’s Museum would love it as a new home, and the Sacramento Science and Space Museum wants it also.

Finally, there’s a proposal to create a museum featuring Wayne Thiebaud, Sacramento’s internationally known painter. A selection committee will advise the City Council in about a month.
