Sacramento County’s annual event is aimed at connecting local job seekers with employers. But Debra Muro with the county’s Human Assistance Department says this year’s fair is also designed to help hurricane victims.

"We’ve been working with the Red Cross doing quite a bit of work with the evacuees who have come to our community. We set up a one stop and took care of some services for them through that and then we decided that employment was the next step."

Over 30 local employers will be at Thursday's job fair, including Comcast, Coca-Cola, SMUD, Regional Transit and the UC Davis Med Center.

It’ll be at the Susie Gaines-Mitchell Bureau at Florin Road from 11 AM to 3 PM.
