Developer Danny Benvenuti Jr. says he’s engineering a deal to move the Greyhound bus station to the Richards Boulevard area. And while Greyhound says it is open to a move, Richards Boulevard won’t work for it. The area isn’t close enough to other modes of transportation, Greyhound says.

Moving the depot would clear the way for Benvenuti to build a 31 story highrise on the Seventh and L Street site. Greyhound says it prefers a move to the western end of the current Sacramento Amtrak depot. But that would be temporary. The depot will eventually be part of an intermodal transit station planned north of the Amtrak station.
