Sacramento State President Alexander Gonzalez unveiled the university’s new logo Thursday.
On KXJZ’s Insight, Gonzalez said the new design expresses many things the campus values in a simple and dignified way. “It looks like a shield. It has an arc which represents a bridge from the campus to the community, it has symbolic water which represents the American River and the environment of the university and then in the center it has the torch which is the light of learning as well as the torch that we pass on to future generations.”
The design is part of a new branding campaign intended to give Sacramento State products a consistent look. It was created by Berkeley-based Osaki Design.
