A planned loft development on L and 18th Streets is in an area which is already affected by traffic. Popular restaurants and residents in the neighborhood make parking tight. Meanwhile, a 93 unit condominium planned there will have only one parking space per unit.
L Street Lofts developer Sotiris Kolokotronis recently proposed to Regional Transit a plan to get its condo buyers out of their cars and onto buses and light rail, by offering discounted transit passes. Now, the idea is in the early planning stages.
Regional Transit hopes the project will catch on with other high density residential developers, to minimize traffic.
