Shawn Harrison, who runs Soil Born Farm in Sacramento County, says he believes the aerial spraying of pyrethrin earlier this month skipped his fields. But he’s worried about next time … and he’s testing for any residue so far.

The mosquito control district says it has a list of all the organic farms in the county … and has put that information into the plane’s guidance system, so it will stay clear. In Yolo County, Peabody Ranch’s manager says the district is giving her, and other organic farmers, miles of clearance. The organic farms are well known … and ground foggers have been used instead.
