The three alarm fire destroyed parts of Marty’s bar and grill over the weekend.

The fire caused a lot of smoke damage to The Tower and Terry Moore – the head of theatre operations for Reading International, which operates The Tower – says they’ve been spending the past few days cleaning up. "We have a company in there that’s actually professionally taking the smoke out of the building and they’re wiping down all the soft surfaces, cleaning floors, carpet cleaning, that kind of stuff to get the smell out."

Moore says the fire is putting a dent in business. "It’s really terrible to lose the weekend, I mean that’s obviously when we do our most business in movie theatres so we want to get back and operating as soon as possible."

Meantime, the Tower Café and other nearby businesses reopened Monday. Fire officials say the blaze may have started after a restaurant employee set off an aerosol bug bomb.
