Democratic Assemblywoman Fran Pavley is a leader in the movement and author of the state law that will limit greenhouse gas vehicle emissions beginning late this decade.   She’s looking for more ways to cut emissions.

"My bill would require CARB, that’s the California Air Resources Board, to establish the firmest possible economically feasible caps for stationary or industrial greenhouse gas emissions."

Governor Schwarzenegger will speak Wednesday to the U N’s World Environment Day Conference in San Francisco and will unveil his administration’s climate change policy.

Lawmakers in Sacramento say a governor’s executive order is not enough and that statute law is needed to provide standards and accountability to reverse global warming.
