Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger wanted to thank lawmakers who are supporting his effort to make changes in the state prison system but he fielded more questions from reporters about his administration.  Schwarzenegger brushed off reports that there is disarray—and dismissed speculation that some of his initiatives have lost steam.

“It’s just great drama and you know, you like to take someone down and build them up again and talk about the initiatives and how disastrous this is and how great this is… it’s great drama… so have a good time with all the great drama, I don’t care. I don’t mind it.”

Following the news conference, the state assembly approved the bill which represents a compromise between legislative Democrats and the Governor, and accompanies Schwarzenegger’s proposed re-organization of the state prison system.  The bill will return to the state Senate for final approval.
