The survey by Sacramento State researcher Amy Liu shows that if it were up to voters, they would reject a new arena proposal. “If the issue comes to the ballot, I really think it will be defeated. More than half would definitely vote no and only 32-percent would vote yes and 17-percent haven’t really made up their mind.”
She says if a new arena was going to be built, 51-percent want private funds to pay for it while 37-percent think a combination of private and public funds would be acceptable. Men were most likely to call for a new arena with 39-percent of male and only 29-percent of female respondents in favor. The telephone poll of 1002 residents was conducted last month.
