The leisure and travel business in metropolitan Sacramento draws about 15 million visitors each year, generating $2 billion for the economy.

The City’s Convention and Visitors Bureau hopes to boost those figures by hosting CrossSphere in early April. It’s a convention for people who put together packaged travel. For most, it will be their first exposure to California’s Capital.

The 200 industry professionals will see the region’s wine country, tour Old Sacramento, and take bus tours in the Gold Country, among other outings. Sacramento officials hope they’ll leave with ideas for more packaged tours to include this region.
