Governor Schwarzenegger hasn’t decided yet. But Democratic State Treasurer Phil Angelides has left little doubt, and next Tuesday he makes it official with an Angelides for Governor kick-off dinner in San Francisco followed by a four-day campaign swing though the state. At the Capitol, Senate President pro Tem Don Perata said there’s no such thing as starting too early.
The Democratic primary is still almost fifteen months away. Republicans, like Sacramento area Assemblyman Roger Niello, say they’re not worried.
Democratic state Attorney General Bill Lockyer, who acknowledged he voted for Schwarzenegger for governor in October 2003, is also expected to join the race later this year.
