Three shopping centers are being proposed for a single intersection along Interstate 80 in Rocklin … but will have to wait several years, until the new interchange is built at Sierra College Boulevard.

One will be Rocklin Pavilions, with big box stores and smaller anchors spread over 46 acres. Another plan is for the Village at Rocklin Pavilions, with shops, restaurants and professional offices. And another corner would have Rocklin Crossings, a so-called power center on 48 acres by developer Donahue Schriber of Costa Mesa.

The retailers are riding South Placer’s population growth, expected to increase by 65% over the next two decades.
