Speaking to reporters at the U S Capitol after meeting with the state’s congressional delegation, Schwarzenegger gave few details, saying the Bush administration holds the key to whether California receives more federal dollars. But he said the fact that he campaigned for President Bush in Ohio last fall shouldn’t be a factor. The governor is after more money for transportation, reimbursement for the cost of incarcerating illegal immigrant criminals, and he’s seeking extension of a four billion dollar Medi-Cal waiver to help pay for hospital care for California’s poor.
