Sacramento County Registrar of Voters Jill LaVine yesterday announced that 12 candidates met the qualifications to be on the March 8th ballot. They include Matsui’s widow – Democrat Doris Matsui, Republican John Thomas Flynn, Green Party candidate Pat Driscoll and Sacramento bounty hunter Leonard Padilla. If none of the candidate receives more than 50 percent of the vote, the top vote-getter from each party will be in a runoff on May 3rd. To be eligible to vote in the election, people must live in the 5th Congressional District and register to vote by February 22nd. SOC
