Ralphs Closing 11 California Stores
Ralphs is closing 11 supermarkets around the state including two in the Sacramento area.

Stores in Rancho Cordova and North Highlands will close on March 13th. They employ about 100 workers, who will be offered jobs at Ralph’s other nine supermarkets according to a company spokesman. Three years ago the company closed five other locations in the Sacramento region. The two stores that are closing are smaller and older than the other Ralphs supermarkets, and couldn’t attract enough new customers to make them viable. Competition in the supermarket industry is brutal … and that will only increase as Wal-Mart opens more of their controversial supercenters.
