Shirley Cinistro (sin-IS-trow) teaches 3rd Grade at Sacramento’s Crocker Riverside Elementary School in Land Park. She plans on bringing a T-V to class so that her students can see the event. The children are very excited to watch it. Some of them have been to Washington DC so they’re excited to see perhaps some places that they have visited and we will certainly have discussions afterwards. Watching the inauguration is the culmination of a long lesson that started last fall with class elections. The students did a lot of research, we gave speeches, we had reporters asking questions and then the class voted and so for them this is an ending activity. Cinistro says students need to be aware of what’s going on in the world and watching the inauguration will helps her teach them about the electoral process. Steve Milne - KXJZ news.
