Matsui’s sudden passing late Saturday in Washington leaves a huge political void in Sacramento. Although a funeral is still days away, behind-the-scenes political jockeying has already begun. The first step in electing a new House representative must be taken by Governor Schwarzenegger. Margita Thompson is his press secretary.
