Students are getting more job offers and getting them sooner, according to Eva Gabbe (EE-vuh GAY-be) with the Sacramento State Career Center. She says they’re entering the best job market since the dot-com days. Especially in the business sector it’s been super strong – accounting, finance, sales has just been skyrocketing. Meantime, the California Institute for County Government predicts local job growth will rise by 3-percent next year. Institute Director Matthew Newman says momentum is gaining. There’s lots of new homes getting sold, there’s lots of construction employment and government employment is the major weak spot right now but it looks like the worst of the government layoffs are probably behind us. Newman says manufacturing also appears poised to return to positive job growth after more than 3-years of losses. Steve Milne - KXJZ news.
