Trio Indicted for Stealing Mailed Checks
A trio in the foothills has been indicted for allegedly stealing checks and credit cards and using them to buy goods for sale on e-Bay.

A Cameron Park couple and a Folsom accomplice allegedly pilfered rural mailboxes in their area, from July 2002 until recently. According to the indictment, they enlisted ordinary looking people to take the checks and credit cards into stores, such as Walmart, Target and Radio Shack in Folsom. The security staff at Mervyn’s nabbed one of the trio during an identity check. When arrested, the three had federal tax returns, Social Security checks, and boxes of mail stolen in Folsom and Western el dorado county. Potential jail time could be as much as 30 years if convicted.
