First Session of State Legislature Convenes

The partisan split at the Capitol will be identical to that of the legislature that adjourned three months ago. Democrats will dominate the forty-member Senate with 25 members. In the Assembly, 48 of the eighty members will be Democrats, with just 32 Republicans. But according to Tim Hodson, who heads the Center for California Studies at Sacramento State University, there will a new twist, a never-before-seen legislative family connection.
