New Sacramento City Council Members Sworn In
Mayor Heather Fargo and several re-elected Sacramento City Council members will take the oath of office tonight. And as Steve Milne reports, two new council members will also be sworn in.
Monday, November 22, 2004
The new members are Kevin McCarty, who replaces District Six councilman Dave Jones now serving in the state Assembly and Rob Fong, who takes over for retiring councilman Jimmie Yee. An attorney and former president of the city school board, Fong says he’s looking forward to his new responsibility. This is just an exquisitely exciting time to be in Sacramento and to get to play a role at the council level to help shape the policy and direction for the city is a tremendous responsibility but also a tremendous opportunity and I’m really very much looking forward to it. Because of space limitations, the public is encouraged to avoid City Hall and attend a satellite feed of tonight’s swearing in ceremony at the Library Galleria. The event is free and starts at 7 o’clock. Steve Milne - KXJZ news.
