The university plans to team up with a developer partner to buy four hundred fifty acres at Mather Field from Sacramento County. That will be the site of a residential campus and nearby commercial project. Three developers are among the finalists for the job, and the winner is expected to be announced in January. The project is expected to include almost five million square feet of university, commercial and residential space and will cost upwards of five hundred million dollars. The first phase of the campus is expected to open in two thousand eight with up to six hundred students. Meanwhile, the school starts its graduate programs in downtown Sacramento in January. For the Business Journal, this is Mark Larson
