The delegation traveling with Governor Schwarzenegger in Japan is 56-strong, and includes California Farm Bureau Federation President Bill Pauli (PAUL-ee). He says improving the market for California agriculture is an important aspect of the trip, as is paving the way to get rid of some government to government restrictions. Cut: BillP2 (:17) “The bigger challenge we face is the access issue related to regulatory requirements on our products and many times they have different standards than what we have, some of which we tend to think are restrictive and unfair.” The delegation includes representatives from Sea World San Diego, the California Rice Commission, and the Wine Institute. One of the first events with the Governor is a reception in Tokyo featuring food with California grown ingredients and California wine. SOC
