Governor Accused of Stretching Facts on Anti-Prop 66 Ad
With the race suddenly tightening, YES on Proposition 66 forces are crying "foul."

With only week to go before Election Day, Governor Schwarzenegger weighed in with a 15 second No on Prop 66 ad, warning that limiting the state’s Three Strikes sentencing law only to serious or violent felons would result in the release of 26 thousand dangerous prison inmates. Democratic Assemblyman Mark Leno, who chairs the Assembly Public Safety Committee, says a judge ruled earlier this year that the 26 thousand figure was mathematically impossible. Besides Schwarzenegger, all four of California’s living ex-governors oppose Prop 66, as does state Attorney General Bill Lockyer. SOC
