Pastor Jonathon Zachariou (ZACK-ahr-ree-oo) says his grass-roots efforts a last-minute attempt to convince Californians to consider what he calls moral and ethical issues of embryonic research. He criticized Governor Schwarzenegger’s support for Prop 71, saying it’s at odds with his most basic obligation. Cut: Min1 (:10) “He is a political leader and part of his calling as a political leader is to protect the innocent citizens of his state and part of the citizenry of this state include embryos.” The Governor’s spokesman, Rob Stutzman, says Schwarzenegger has his opinions on the research and that the ministers are free to disagree. The “No on Prop 71” campaign is launching a statewide radio ad this week. The heavily funded “Yes on 71” campaign recently launched T-V ads featuring actor Michael J. Fox who has Parkinson’s disease, and the late actor Christopher Reeve. SOC
