Haynes' Nosey Awards for Worst Bills
Republican Assemblyman Ray Haynes Wednesday presented his third annual Nosey Awards to what are, in his opinion, the worst bills of the year.

Number one on Haynes’ list was the bill banning the force feeding of ducks and geese to produce pate de foie gras (pat TAY duh fwah grah). Haynes said it best met the definition of a Nosey law. CUT: Haynes07 :07 The foie gras bill was signed into law by Governor Schwarzenegger, after he had used it as an example of “strange bills’ sent to him by a full time legislature with too much time on its hands. The bill’s author was Senate President Pro Tem John Burton. Burton’s Chief of Staff, Allison Harvey, said the governor went outside the Capitol for advice. CUT: AlisonHarvey03 :03 The runner up on Assemblyman Haynes’ Nosey Awards list was an unsuccessful resolution to place oriental “feng shui” (FUNG shway) principles into the state building code. SOC
