For the Community Housing Opportunities Corporation of Davis, the 210 housing units it’s building in south Sacramento County is their largest project ever. The non-profit agency is grading land now, at the site by Stockton Boulevard, with construction to begin in February. Acacia Meadows will have 140 apartments and 22 single family homes, with the houses costing about $175,000. Buyers must earn no more than $50,000. Forty-eight more apartment units will be for seniors only. Mercy Housing California and the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency are partners in this effort, which comes at a time when housing prices have soared beyond the means of many.
