Sacramento Residents Willing to Pay Tax for Regional Parks
A new poll shows that Sacramento residents would tax themselves to support regional parks.

Volunteer professionals working with the Sacramento County Parks Commission found through a new survey that a majority of residents would vote for an annual fee of up to $40, if used to keep up the ailing American River Parkway and other park sites. Some weeks ago, a different survey found no such support for taxpayer involvement in a new arena for the Sacramento Kings. Even if the city and county were asked to contribute just 25% of the arena cost – far less than in most NBA cities – it wouldn’t draw majority support from the voters. Whether either initiative will move forward some day is still to be seen.
